176: love is a special way of feeling

Hey.
Is the weekend over already?
>sigh<

Some birdies from last  month:

I don't even mean to collect birds; it just happens.

Thor loves his place in the sun. He especially seems to enjoy it when his place in the sun is also my little photo shoot. He's a natural.  Can you see that he has a swirly gray belly?
Thor's nicknames: Sor-Sor, Shim,  Mr. T, Puppy Cat.

Here, now you can see the shadow action I was going for:

My honey brought this book to my attention at an estate sale:

Uh, is it just me, or is she incredibly Hello Kitty-ish?

So cute!

Those little faces are killin' me.

.............................................................................................

I was tagged again to list seven weird things about me. As  before, I like to play - but not by the rules. So I am going to just keep adding to my original list  whenever I think of something weird ( or random ) about me. I suggest you do the same - it's kind of fun to keep an eye out for those things about oneself that others might find odd or surprising or funny. Sure, some of them will be downright dull - they can't all be winners, right?

Since I already added one on, I think I should be at:

#9.  I really want to dye my hair pink.

#10. I have an unreasonably high tolerance for mess and disarray.

#11. I got my license when I was 22 or 23. I didn't drive regularly until a year later. For the first couple of years, I would not allow any passengers.

#12. Brussels sprouts are like candy to me.

Brussels sprouts? Can't do it. I just can't. But I'm with you on the pink hair love. i want a total makeover, actually. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that I'm inching closer to 40 and starting to feel old. (My 17-year-old son called me "ancient" the other day; bad idea to do it in front of his best friend's mom, who is almost 10 years older than me.)

Oh my god! Memory lane! My grandmother had that book. Every room in my grandparents' house had bookshelves in it and I would spend HOURS looking through them... The Godfather, The Little Witch, and that one. YAY.

OMG - I know I have that little book somewhere in one of my many memory boxes!!! Isn't interesting how little we can let go of things!? Enjoy your day.

I used to have a bunch of Joan Walsh books when I was a kiddo. I have a few still. I love those red birds.

Dye your hair pink then! I really want to dye mine (unnaturally) red again. I did it a few summers ago. I felt more like me than any other hair color I've ever had. Although pink was fun. I would suggest staying away from turquoise It just washed out and looks sickly green - at least on me. Now I'm all worried about being professional looking. Boo.

That first shot of the birds is breathtaking! So beautiful Melissa! I vote for pink hair with dark brown underneath. And brussel sprouts are little bundles of sweet joy. Roasted or tossed in my Ramen, can't go wrong. Cheers! Tracey

I also have some books from this series - bought from a thrift store, because I liked them so much!
