The living room isn't quite ready to be shown off yet, but I did want to show you something cool.

I am painting the radiators like I did in the bathroom - from a dull uneven silver to glossy bright white. Look at what we found behind one of them (after spending 45 minutes poking through the slots with the handles of wooden spoons):

We'll probably frame some of this stuff and hang it in here.

This little bit of wallpaper reminds me of some we had in the house I grew up in, same colors.

Did I ever squeal when I pulled these out:

A hoodsie spoon wrapper! Someone's life insurance policy bill: One dollar a month!

Photographs!

( Did you notice that I am experimenting with  my backgrounds ?)

A few more bits:

The crucifix pouch was empty, unfortunately.

But check this out:

A scrap of a girlie mag!

Got ready for work yesterday, and when I walked into the living room, I realized that my sweater was the exact shade of the new paint color.

Sorry for the blur, but it was the only picture I liked enough to show you. (Yeah honey, I know, it's a little forehead-y.) Sweater hoodie from Old Navy - gift from my Honey for Valentine's Day.

I am a little self-conscious about showing pictures of myself, so be gentle.

That is so fantastic! I love to find little treasures like that. We have a very wonky stair in our house and I keep thinking maybe if I took it apart to fix it maybe something would be in there making all that noise.

Great finds! I'm sure the girlie mag. was hidden there on purpose but I wonder how the other items ended up there!? Sigh - I wish I was going to quilt market (I even have the date marked on my calendar). My goal is to be there this time next year....

I am originally from the Philadelphia area. I see that the calendar piece that you found behind the radiator is from Philly. What nice treasures you found! Occassionally I use blogs to inspire my art students and this would be a good one to show them. We have been working on Mixed Media Collage and Pop Art. I also checked out the site Melody Gardot....sounds good! Thanks!

How did I miss this post?!!!

The treasures were meant for you. The house saved them until the right person who would appreciate them came along!

And I love your hair! I imagined you with long dark hair. I get an F on that one. I hear you about posting photos of yourself. I just posted my first and wanted to act all cool about it but inside I was freaking out. And it's a photo shot from behind of me sitting on a bench, far far away.

Your bravery continues to impress me.

I was also thinking long brown hair. Must be b/c other Melissas I know sport that look. You are adorable. And all that pink suits you! Molly
