217: Good, Friday!

Aw, you guys! You are so sweet.

I totally didn't mean to guilt trip you! I was feeling  embarrassed for  being so needy but I'm over it now. I try not to beat myself up for that kind of stuff anymore. It always changes. Everything does.

I have been having ice cream after dinner instead of for dinner, so that's progress, right? And no chips. When I want to start eating better, I begin by adding in good stuff, rather than taking away the junk. So, I am still eating candy (atomic fireballs, yum) but I have a protein smoothie for breakfast, add in fruit during the day and make sure to have a big salad in addition to whaever else I eat. As I start to feel better, the junk food will fall away for the most part. Water, though. Still need to work on the water.

I've been sewing each night. My workroom is essentially a storage room at this point, so I have been sewing at the dinner table.  I  love how the fabric looks piled up on the radiator:

The walls are so bare because we still haven't put on the second coat of paint! We are slow at that kind of stuff.

I am loving that colour so much. It's just like the paint that HASN'T gone up in our kitchen yet (grouch grouch)

I am bad at drinking enough water too. I have had some luck though with adding a little lemon juice to the water to help make it more appealing. I had some water at a restaurant in San Francisco that had cucumbers in it. Now don't say yuck yet. It was even lighter and more refreshing then lemon in water.

We also installed an undersink water filter. No more filling up the Britta pitcher for us :) I also find that I won't drink really cold water unless I have been working out in the sun. Otherwise, I feel like it knots up my stomach.

Kudos for you making baby steps on the healthy eating front. I have found also that completely removing the "bad" food from my diet makes me want it more. Then I binge, which is really bad since I start to feel depressed and end up eating more bad stuff. Downward spiral ensues...

Going cold turkey for me just doesn't work. On the other hand though, it works for my husband perfectly. Of course, he is able to drop weight a lot easier than me too. Darn him!

I also came to the conclusion a while back that I will never be a 'Kate Moss' and I will always look more like the 'Jane Russel, Marlyn Monroe' body type. I try not to beat myself up about what I eat and my weight. I strive to stay on a healthy eating regime, even if I slip off the tracks every now and then :)

I love seeing piles of fabric. They are just bursting with energy. I think they subliminally chanting, "make something with me". Ah.... The possibilities.

Just so you know, the cucumbers were sliced and floating in the water just like you sometimes do with lemons. Not pureed :)

I am loving the color of those walls! I just downloaded the soundtrack from Sex and the City movie, which I loved loved loved. I am into Jennifer Hudson's song, along with Nina Simone and India.Arie. Keep up the great progress on sewing and healthy eating. Go Melissa!

Oh yes.. your walls remind me of the colour I painted my walls when I had my first house.. They were deep orange, and when I lit all the fifty or so candles at night, it was red with orange tones. OHHH.. I miss my old bedroom!

I love the piles of fabric too.. and the radiators.. I need to buy me an old house to live in. I love the character and energy of the older built homes..

Im must be off, ciao bella!

You crack me up, Melissa! I'm lucky if I get half a dozen comments on my blog at any given time... even when I have giveaways or announcements! Well, I might get a couple dozen for FREE stuff, but still... ya know ;)

As for music... I've recently discovered Feist. I know she's been around for a bit but I just discovered her music by chance while listening to a Pandora channel and OMG I'm addicted. Check her out... she's retro, and funky and sometimes melancholy ... sooo awesome!

I love that wall color - it's gorgeous! I so need to drink more water - I don't think coke is a good substitute.
I love the Weepies as someone above mentioned and also She and Him (Zooey Deschanel's voice is wonderful). Have a great weekend!

Your blog is great! I can't believe you feel the need to beg for comments. So that is why I am leaving a comment. I usually just lurk the best crafty, sewy, quilty, fabricy blogs - and it seems that you know many of them...but I thougnt I would leave a comment to boost your self esteem. I bet lots more people love your site than ever leave comments. I RELIGIOUSLY read about 15 blogs and NEVER leave comments. So I am adding you to my favorites and your new fabric line is really great, that is how I found your site, from quiltersbuzz. Your writing style is very warm and real - sometimes I get the feeling that some bloggers are only posting the perfect side of their life and I hate them for it. I think it's funny that you obsess over the food that you eat and plan to make up for "bad" food by eating healthy later in the day. I do the exact same thing. My latest weakness is Haribo gummy bears which I tell myself it is okay to eat the whole bag because it has no fat and some protein.

Hey! I just found your blog and wanted to say - all those piles of fabric look yummy! I have trouble drinking enough water too, but I'm trying to fix that by drinking tea! I go through about a gallon a day of tea, so that should count for something! Your garden looks gorgeous! I'm having a bit of a problem with mine right now... it looks like it may be a combination of deer and groundhogs - not sure yet... I'm blogging about it of course... we'll see if there's anything left to blog about in the morning!
