330: raspberry o'clock

Found that gorgeous bit of vintage crazy quilting for one dollar at a yard sale a few weeks ago. It's an old pillow cover, but the back is cut away.

I love the frankenstitching, that's about my speed.

Who made this? Who do the names and initials belong to, and what  do the dates signify?

Huh, lookie what I found:

..........................................................................................................................

Each day after I close up the shop, I head home and gather up the few ripe raspberries from the garden. I  toss a handful in a bowl and mash them up with a fork. After splashing in some  vinegar (I'm using Trader Joe's Orange Muscat Champagne Vinegar, but balsamic would be yummy, too) and a drizzle of organic olive oil, I give it a shake of salt and a generous amount of freshly cracked pepper.  Mix it up with the fork and toss in a bunch of greens and whatever veggies are hanging around. Then I add feta or goat cheese and toss. Excuse me, but holy yum.

Oh, look at that. It's 5 pm. Raspberry-O'Clock.

xo, m

Oh how lucky the makers of this crazy quilt are that it ended up in your possession and is now being appropriately appreciated!

That sounds so yummy! Do you have a Pizzeria Uno there? They had great salads and a yummy rasperry vinaigrette. I miss the east coast. They don't have half the restaurants here in WA that they did there... *sigh*

Interesting pillow cover...it does make you wonder. Did the seller not know anything about it?

whoa! great find!

the raspberry idea sounds super delicious. we'll have to try that tomorrow. we've been making lots of jam with ours so that we can still savor berries during the long winter months. :)
