364: Bronte-Along! Jane Eyre

Let the swooning begin!

Beth Dunn and I present the  Bronte-Along ! (Check out that link for all the info about how this will work.)

If you wish to join (you will, won't you?) follow the directions you find there and come back to this page to add your link below so we can all follow each other! It's gonna be so fun!

First up: Jane Eyre, of course!

I made these adorable Jane and Rochester birdies for Beth's new blog: An Accomplished Young Lady. (I did all of the art on the site - check it out!)

I have still been doing a bunch of Jane paintings (will show later in the week) and am thinking of some other projects, too! I wonder what we will all come up with?? Can't wait to see!

I encourage you to add your pictures to the flickr pool, become a member of the bronte-along facebook group  and follow @brontealong on  twitter!

Oh, oh, oh!! Great news: Over the weekend, I discovered that the Masterpiece Theatre 2006 film version is available on youtube! Here, you can watch it RIGHT NOW!

I am so excited! Add your link below so we can all see what everyone is doing!

***Please make it a link to a specific post about this project! That way if someone happens upon this a year from now, they will be taken to the posts about the project, rather than the front page of your blog. ***

xo,

melissa

*****Updated to add these resources!*****

Jane Eyre is free to read online here.

Hi all -- I just put a link to this fabulously fun venture on the Sturgis Library blog. http://sturgislibrary.blogspot.com/2010/03/bronte-along.html

Let us know if you need copies of the book or DVD, and also if the library can do anything else to help make this an extra-fun project. We have a large-ish meeting room with a projector and screen, so we could even host a meeting of the Bronte-Alongers. Have fun!

a. So glad to know there are other Jane Eyre-obsessives out there.

b. The link I posted is from an old, now-defunct blog. It is my original thoughts after watching the Masterpiece Theater broadcast two years ago.

Hi! I'm delighted to join in the BronteAlong discussion! I have admired Jane Eyre since junior high English class (yes, I was reading, as well as giggling w/ my friend Greg, in the back of mrs. petty's class). Even with all the great adaptations of Jane Eyre, I too was captivated by the most recent one with Ruth Wilson and Toby Stephens (who also starred in The Tenant of Wildfell Hall in 1996!). Since I tweet (@fictional100) rather than blog, I've linked to my Jane Eyre page, to which I added a BronteAlong button and description. I also added a link to BronteAlong on my suggested links page. I found you folks on twitter and I'm looking forward to following the #brontealong tweet chats!

Yay! I'm so excited about this. My book The Heroine's Bookshelf is due out in October and the Jane Eyre chapter was the first one I wrote because I couldn't think of another book that's influenced my life more. :) Hooray for all of the closet and uncloseted Bronte fans!

I'm in too! I was motivated after seeing Joan of wishes, true and kind and Diane of Craftypod blogged about joining in. I haven't read any Bronte, even tho I was and English major in college, so I'm excited to participate. Love seeing the updated link to the ereader.

I love Masterpiece Theatre and so I do love those Bronte girls!

I often see myself sitting in a regal manor spending my day reading, stitching, walking in the garden, and fending off unwanted suitors! Thanks for the fun. :D

Hi, I'm not a crafty blogger - my passion is decorated cookies. But I am a Bronte devotee, and just couldn't resist finding ways to design cookies with Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights themes. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else creates. Cheers, mari
