361: scoutie girl, unicorn cookies, omgpig

For this week and the next, I am blogger-in-residence over at the fab blog Scoutie Girl!

Tara is a cutie whose design blog covers all manner of handmade goodness. If you don't know scoutie girl, you should!

Have a look at the intro post she did about me and then meander over, if you like, and check out my first guest post!

Can you guess what inspired my freshman entry?

If you have suggestions for my next posts, let me know in the comments!

In other news, I have the best customers.

One lovely girl who comes in brought me this over the weekend:

Can you believe it? Thanks, Jess!

.........................................................................

I hope you don't mind if I keep showing you the painting I have been doing.

These are some painty/illustrationy/doodley things that I love to do:

Friends, meet omg-pig:

And a sweet little ellie:

Um, he's not supposed to look like he has a package! I thought you might find it funny, though, so I'm showing you anyways :o)

How about some more little elephants?

I love drawing these guys. Painting, I mean. Gouache.

Some owls:

Obsession Update: Only watched Jane Eyre once today :o) And started rereading the book. It's been three days since I finished it. This isn't too soon, is it?

Unrelated: Would it be wrong to start calling Stuart 'Sir'?

Those of you who said you would join me--- have you picked up your copies yet or ordered the film??

xo,

melissa

OK - I was zipping through my Google Reader and saw the unicorn cookie cutter and immediately said, "OMG! I have to send that to Melissa!" and then scrolled up to grab the link and saw it was from your blog. I am so happy you have that! :)

I started reading Jane Eyre years ago but never got very far, despite loving most classics. You've inspired me to give it another go. I just downloaded it to my Kindle because I'm easily obsessed and my other copy is at home and I'm not at home and I need to read it NOW!

Also, I'm happy to know you've watched the movie/read the book so many times in so few days. I love doing that because sometimes a movie/book is so perfect and creates the most wonderful mood...to watch/read anytying else just feels wrong. Plus, I miss all my (movie/book) friends and then I'm sad.

I think "Good Sir" would be funnier/more annoying. And I'm loving the paintings - a skill I do not possess even the tiniest bit. If I drew something, I would make caveman drawings look good! ;)

Madame, after reading your most recent posting I have to say that I am enamoured of your artistic creations and have a fondness for owls. One is wise to share such creativeness with their audience as it brings great enjoyment.... ha! just fooling around here. How bout if we talk like that all weekend just to freak our husbands/partners out? might be a little amusing... For 8 months I pretended that I didn't know Tyler Perry's Madea character was really Tyler Perry just to mess with the old man... it was fun. Now you have some insight into my relationship- so anyway I will have to make a library stop sometime this weekend... for sure I love the doodles keep sharing them!
